What was your experience in the Department of Communication Studies?
I had a great experience in the Department of Communication Studies. I fostered great relationships with the Professors and with my classmates. Every Professor in the Department of Communication Studies contributed in my formation as a communication specialist and as a human being.
What was the best thing about your time in the Department of Communication Studies?
I enjoyed meeting my classmates and I became good friends with many of them. I also enjoyed talking to my Professors after class or during office hours.
What are your words of wisdom to current students in the Department of Communication Studies?
My best advice would be to get to know your classmates and to learn all that you can from your Professors because their knowledge is very valuable and it will serve you in the real world. Getting a degree in Communication Studies puts you in a very privileged position, you will have the opportunity to craft messages that can inspire people, connect with them and make a difference in their lives.
What would you tell someone considering becoming a student in the Department of Communication Studies?
I would say that Communication is a very valuable area to specialize in. Now more than ever, brands need a good communication plan to cultivate a relationship with their audiences. Through Communication, you can also learn to write and craft messages that will enamor your audiences.
In what ways did your time in the Department of Communication Studies have a large impact on you?
My time in the Department of Communication Studies had a large impact on me, I used my professors’ office hours to talk to them about anything. English is my second language so I learned how to write really well, and it inspired me to explore the idea of becoming a writer and developing my own brand.
What else should people know about you?
I am originally from San Salvador, El Salvador. I just started a new blog to go with my Instagram poetry (@halv_writing). I enjoy connecting with people on a deeper level, relating to their struggle and dreams.
